Second Life® Influencing Real Life Shops?

Now this is more like it!

Today I was walking down the high street with a couple of colleagues in a little town somewhere in the United Kingdom, when we came across this fashion shop branded "White Stuff" and in the window were mannequins that looked like furries escaped from Second Life®.

Naturally it was a photographic moment:

Please note that this is not a photoshoppped picture. You can go there right now and see them in the window.

One of them even looks like it's AFK!

I reckon savvy shop owners realise that winter's coming (northern hemisphere) and in winter we GAME!

Furries predate SL by decades. Even if it is furry inspired, doesn't mean it's SL inspired.

Yes, TimeChaser, you're right. I think it's a resonance effect - SL just being a recent major resonance of the meme.

That's their mascot, Cyril the Squirrel, on the manikins. It's not much different from passing by a Disney Store and seeing Mickey and Donald in the window modeling t-shirts, except I doubt they have Cyril dolls for sale inside.
