Oh Lively's Going Somewhere At Last

My first time on Lively went like this: Can I make stuff? No. The end. Oh, and a few thoughts about security, but I quickly forgot about it and then finally uninstalled it.

Now I hear it's being dropped entirely.

It's a non-event for me, sorry to say. The parts that were made looked really nice (I mean YouTube on a TV right out the box was very cool) but it really had no appeal to me. So I salute the ship as she sails her last voyage.

Google Lively - The Next Big Security Target

Google's Lively is all the talk - people trying to find something to say about it. Bottom line: it's a 3D chat room you can embed in your web page and is ligitimized because it's made by Google.

But, if you're running 32-bit Vista, you'll find you might have to disable Data Execution Prevention (if you're like me who enables it by default for all programs) for Lively's client.exe just to get it to run. *cough*

Erm, that says to all hackers out there "target for buffer overflows" in big red writing.
